Synopsis
Ximen Chuixue asks Lu Xiaofeng to find a swordsman named Liu Chengfeng, who has dropped out of sight. Lu follows the trail into the desert, where he finds Liu dead in a remote town, and then follows clues that lead him to Gong Susu, a former imperial consort. A search for a hidden treasure draws him deeper into a plot with a powerful opposition behind it. Lu and Ximen must work together against enemies who have been arranging events for years, and the story is notable for showing the usually cold swordsman in a new light.
