Synopsis

League of Dragons brings the Temeraire series to its conclusion, opening as Napoleon, forced into retreat from Russia after the events of Blood of Tyrants, devises a new strategy to secure lasting power. Rather than relying solely on military force, he offers dragons across the world a cure for the dragon plague and a Concord granting them rights and recognition long denied by nations such as Britain, a proposal that begins drawing dragons to his cause out of a desire for equality rather than mere conquest. Laurence and Temeraire, together with Temeraire's mate Iskierka and their newly hatched daughter Ning, must contend with the albino dragon Lien, who threatens Temeraire's egg and forces a pursuit across Europe, all while Laurence works to hold together a coalition of dragons and human allies whose loyalty is increasingly tested by the appeal of Napoleon's promises.

Notes

  • From the series record (Temeraire): 9-novel completed historical-fantasy sequence (2006-2016): the Napoleonic Wars in a world where an intelligent-dragon aerial corps supplements every nation's military. One continuous linear narrative; publication order equals in-story order. Unusual debut cadence: the first three novels were all published in 2006 (Del Rey rapid-succession launch).
