Synopsis

Marco must destroy Lynx, guardian of the Great Abyss. Five chosen family members have entered the ancestral valley to face the last of the evil-marked kin along with Lynx, but cannot yet reach the spot where the cauldron of evil's water lies buried, as it seethes and bubbles in grey hues. The book also flashes back to Marco's childhood and youth before an earlier killing, and follows a budding relationship between two other family members.

Notes

  • From the series record (The Legend of the Ice People): The original 47-volume saga (1982-1989) following the cursed Ice People clan across generations of Scandinavian history, marked by inherited supernatural gifts, a medallion-bound curse, and (in its later volumes) an underground kingdom where time itself runs differently. Two later continuations exist (a further ~35 volumes across two more parts, published years afterward) and are not yet catalogued here pending closer genre review.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings, but they resolve to the exact same sequence for this book, so one combined line is shown instead of two identical ones.
