Synopsis
Lioness Rampant is the fourth and final book of the Song of the Lioness quartet. Now a knight, Alanna of Trebond sets out with her cat Faithful and her old companion Coram on a quest into the kingdom of Sarain to recover the Dominion Jewel, an artifact said to grant enormous power to any monarch who possesses it. Along the way she gains new companions, including the warrior Liam Ironarm and the exiled princess Thayet, while back home in Tortall, political change accelerates in her absence. Word reaches Alanna that her twin brother Thom, desperate to prove himself the realm's greatest sorcerer, has meddled with dangerous magic tied to her old enemy Duke Roger. As Alanna presses toward the Jewel, the growing crisis at home draws her back toward a final reckoning with Roger and the fate of the crown itself.
