Synopsis
Dirk apparently defects to the ruling religious order, secretly planning to destroy it from within by rising through its ranks. To make the betrayal convincing he must manipulate an amoral rival and cut himself off from those he loves, all while political intrigue escalates around a skeptical former ally, a power-hungry ruler, and a crippled prince's uncertain destiny.
