Synopsis
Memorias de Idhún I: La Resistencia, published in 2004, opens the Memorias de Idhún trilogy by Laura Gallego García, a story blending fantasy, adventure and romance. It follows Jack and Victoria, two teenagers born on Earth, who become entangled with Shail, a wizard, and Alsan, a warrior, both exiled from the magical world of Idhún after the tyrannical winged serpents who now rule that realm hunted down its wizards and dragons. Together the four form a group known as La Resistencia, dedicated to opposing the serpents' rule and, eventually, to finding a way back to Idhún to challenge them. The book establishes the bond between the Earth-born teenagers and the exiled Idhunites as the foundation for the trilogy's central conflict.
