Synopsis
A hundred years after the events of Malice, Alyce, the dark sorcerer once blamed for Aurora's century-long curse, has built a court of her own from the marginalized magical creatures the old order cast aside, and now rules them as their de facto leader. When Aurora finally wakes from her enchanted sleep, she discovers that her complicated feelings toward Alyce, the woman she once loved and the one responsible for the destruction of her home and the deaths of many she cared for, have not faded with the passing century. As Alyce tries to balance her duty to her followers against her private hopes of reconciling with Aurora, and keeps Aurora's return hidden from those who would use her, open war erupts between magical factions across the kingdom, leaving neither the old light nor the old dark side with any clean claim to being in the right.
