Synopsis
Naamah's Curse, the second novel of the Moirin Trilogy, finds Moirin established far from Terre d'Ange in the empire of Ch'in, where she has won the favor of the Emperor and his daughter. Despite this position, she is troubled by an unresolved spiritual bond: a fragment of a goddess lodged within her own soul aches for its severed other half, tied to Bao, the man she loves and has been parted from. Sensing him across a vast distance, Moirin sets out westward across the steppe as winter closes in, determined to find him again. Her journey exposes her to harsh landscapes, human cruelty, and dark magic capable of suppressing her innate gifts, making her difficult for anyone searching for her to detect, as she pushes on in pursuit of the man from whom fate and distance have separated her.
