Synopsis
The third volume follows Nona, an amnesiac who wakes each day in a nineteen-year-old body she does not recognize as her own, though she is, by her own reckoning, only six months old. Gifted with unusual healing and an intuitive grasp of language, she lives in a besieged, war-torn city among people who share their bodies with other minds, and works contentedly as a teacher's aide to a group of local children. She shares her days with companions Camilla and Palamedes, now bound together in a single body, and Pyrrha, a cavalier inhabiting a body not originally her own, all operating within a rebel cell of the resistance group Blood of Eden. Looming over the city is a colossal, mind-shattering entity known as a Resurrection Beast, drawing the military's attention away and setting the stage for the group's next move.
