Synopsis
Of Charms, Ghosts and Grievances follows married couple Thuan, a dragon prince, and Asmodeus, a Fallen angel, from Aliette de Bodard's Dominion of the Fallen universe, as a planned family holiday goes badly wrong. Their trip is upended when they find a corpse in a ruined shrine and encounter a ghost who witnessed the killing, and it soon becomes clear that someone is determined to silence both the ghost and everyone connected to what it saw. While Asmodeus is driven toward vengeance, Thuan tries to hold the situation, and his family, together as they are pursued by malevolent paper charms. Alongside the murder investigation, the novel follows the couple as they try to reconcile their very different visions of their future together, blending dark fantasy, mystery, and domestic comedy in equal measure.

Notes
- From the series record (Dragons and Blades): Two novellas set in the same Paris/dragon-kingdom setting, following secondary characters (Thuan and Asmodeus) -- side-story length, not the primary reading unit for this universe, per the Rivers of London precedent (main-sequence novels Core, side novellas Expanded).
