Synopsis
One Salt Sea is the fifth novel in the October Daye series. It opens with Toby enjoying a rare stretch of stability: she now holds a title among fae nobility, has a squire she is training, and has settled into a steady relationship. That calm ends when the Luidaeg, the powerful sea witch to whom Toby owes an old debt, calls it in and demands that Toby prevent a war between the land-based fae and the Undersea kingdom. The immediate cause is the disappearance of the two young sons of Duchess Dianda Lorden of Saltmist, an abduction that threatens to ignite open conflict between the two realms, and Toby is given only three days to find the missing boys and clear the Queen of the Mists of suspicion in their kidnapping.
