Synopsis
Ashes of Honor is the sixth novel in the October Daye series. It opens with Toby still grieving the recent loss of her lover Connor and of her own daughter to the mortal world, when her friend Sir Etienne asks for her help finding Chelsea, a previously unknown changeling daughter of his who has gone missing. The situation is urgent because Chelsea is a teleporter whose powers have gone dangerously uncontrolled, and every portal she opens risks tearing into sealed-off regions of Faerie and releasing whatever has been shut away inside them. As Toby searches for Chelsea before she can cause irreversible harm, she comes to suspect that the girl's disappearance was no accident but was deliberately engineered, and that a wider plot is unfolding within the Court of Cats even as she races to find the missing teenager.
