Synopsis

Chimes at Midnight is the seventh novel in the October Daye series. It opens with changelings turning up dead across San Francisco, victims of an epidemic tied to the addictive drug goblin fruit, and when Toby brings the crisis to the Queen of the Mists, the Queen reveals herself to be the fruit's distributor and responds by sentencing Toby to exile from her home and everyone she loves. Racing to overturn that sentence, Toby uncovers evidence that the current Queen has no legitimate claim to the throne of the Mists, and that the late King Gilad secretly had children who were hidden away for their own protection generations earlier.

Notes

  • From the series record (October Daye): Long-running urban fantasy series; the main novel sequence only. Distinct from McGuire's Wayward Children. Numerous companion novellas/short stories exist and were not researched.
