Synopsis

This installment closes out the Camelot Years and the wider Endless Woods story begun in the earlier trilogy. It opens with Sophie missing and multiple factions searching for her, while Agatha and Tedros recover King Arthur's ring, said to hold the power to keep the Storian, the pen that writes all fairy tales, alive. The impostor Rhian is exposed as Japeth, Tedros's own brother, who has been posing as him and intends to marry Sophie, who unknown to her companions is under Japeth's mental control and suffers pain whenever she tries to access her true memories. Excalibur itself rises from its stone and demands a formal contest between the brothers to settle who is the legitimate heir to Camelot, with the winner claiming the crown and the loser facing execution. Tedros must fight to reclaim his throne and stop Japeth from being crowned the One True King.

Notes

  • From the series record (The Camelot Years): A second, direct-continuation trilogy following the same characters; Core Canon by the same credited-authorship rule as the original trilogy.
