Synopsis
The concluding volume of Darian's Tale takes place two years after the events of Owlsight, with Darian having built a stable life among the Hawkbrothers, including a close relationship with a young healer, and having largely made peace with the loss of his parents years earlier. That fragile stability is upended when he learns his parents did not die in the raid on his village after all, but survived and remain trapped behind hostile enemy lines. Forced to weigh the settled life he has finally achieved against the chance to rescue the family he believed lost, Darian must decide how far he is willing to go, and what he is willing to risk, to bring his parents home.
