Synopsis
Peace Talks is the sixteenth novel, in which Harry Dresden, juggling his roles as a White Council wizard, Winter Knight and father, is summoned by Queen Mab to serve as Winter's emissary at a fraught peace summit between the Fomor and the other supernatural signatories of the Accords. He arrives already under pressure on several fronts: the White Council is considering expelling him, unknown Outsiders are trying to kill him, and his own grandfather wants custody of his daughter Maggie for her safety. During the negotiations, Dresden's brother Thomas attacks the Svartalfar king and is taken prisoner, forcing Harry and White Court noble Lara Raith into a rescue that disrupts the talks. The crisis escalates further when Fomor king Corb declares war and unveils Ethniu, a being called the last Titan, wielding an artifact known as the Eye of Balor.

- Author: Jim Butcher
Notes
- Originally conceived as a single novel with Battle Ground; split in two by the publisher due to length.
- From the series record (The Dresden Files): 18-novel main sequence (2000-2026, ongoing), narrated throughout by wizard-detective Harry Dresden. Publication order equals in-story chronological order for the entire main sequence. Peace Talks and Battle Ground (both 2020) were originally written as a single novel that grew too long and was split into two by the publisher, released 2.5 months apart, a genuine bibliographic quirk, not a numbering error. A 19th novel (Mirror Mirror) is announced for 2027 but unpublished and is not registered.
