Synopsis

Queen of the Conquered is set in a Caribbean-inspired fantasy world under colonial rule and follows Sigourney Rose, the sole survivor after the ruling Jannik family massacres her mother and siblings years earlier. Raised uneasily among the colonizing nobility that destroyed her family and gifted with a rare, forbidden mind-control ability called kraft, Sigourney has spent years plotting revenge, and inherits the noble title Elskerinde Lund as she becomes betrothed to a Jannik heir. When the reigning regent, Konge Valdemar, announces he will name a successor from among the kongelig noble families, Sigourney is drawn into a deadly succession contest, one complicated by her growing suspicion that the regent is not entirely what he appears to be, and by the enslaved people around her, including a girl with illusion-based kraft, who may be working toward their own hidden agenda.
