Synopsis

Range of Ghosts, published in 2012, the first novel of the Eternal Sky trilogy, is set in a world shaped by Central Asian inspiration and follows Temur, grandson of a great khan and heir by blood to his grandfather's throne, forced into hiding after a devastating civil war within his family leaves him one of the few survivors of his line. Pursued by the ambitions of his ruthless cousin, who seeks to eliminate rival claimants, Temur travels in disguise across a landscape marked by steppe, mountain, and desert, each ruled by its own distinctive sky and stars. His path crosses with Samarkar, once a princess of a neighboring empire who has renounced her royal position to train as a wizard, and together the two find themselves drawn into a widening conflict involving a fanatical sorcerer whose ambitions threaten kingdoms far beyond Temur's shattered clan.
