Synopsis
Gord is a penniless orphan boy in the Slum Quarter of the city of Greyhawk, a city that is beautiful but cruel to the poor. As he grows into a man he must survive among mysterious wizards, fearsome monsters, dour dwarves and beautiful women, learning the skills of a thief as he goes. Danger waits in every shadow. Gygax wrote the novel to add social and descriptive detail to the World of Greyhawk setting that did not fit in the 1980 folio or the 1983 boxed set.
