Synopsis
In the Beaumont family, every child receives a magical talent, called a savvy, on their thirteenth birthday. Mibs Beaumont is about to turn thirteen, and her brothers already have powers that range from raising storms to making electricity. Then her father is badly hurt in a car accident, and Mibs is certain her new savvy can wake him up. She sneaks onto a bus bound for the hospital with her brothers and a few other kids, only to find it is heading the wrong way. Mibs and her companions have to cope with an unplanned journey, unfamiliar people, and a savvy that may not work the way she hopes, while learning about growing up.
