Synopsis
David Levin's life was pretty normal: school, friends, a girlfriend. Actually, Senna Wales was probably the oddest aspect of his life, beautiful and smart, but with something very different about her. Then, at a lakeside pier, a gigantic wolflike creature rises from the water and drags Senna under, and David and three other high-school students, Christopher, Jalil and Senna's half-sister April, are swept after her into the peculiar and frightening universe of Everworld: a land of trolls, a snake the size of a derailed train, the winged Hetwan, unicorns and a colony of crude Vikings. Taken prisoner to the court of Loki, the Norse god of destruction, they find that Senna has vanished, and when they fall asleep and wake in the real world they realise that they are living in both worlds at once. The book ends as David and his friends join the Vikings in battle against the army of the Aztec god Huitzilopoctli.
