Synopsis
In the fourth book of the Circle Opens series, Tris travels to the distant city of Tharios, where local custom religiously forbids the kind of magical tracking she is skilled at. There she meets Kethlun, a stubborn glassmaker with a raw, unusual gift for lightning-infused glass magic that he has not been trained to control. When a wave of murders begins targeting Kethlun's friends and threatens the glassmaking trade itself, Tris and Kethlun are forced to set aside their mutual wariness and work together despite the restrictions on the very abilities they need to investigate. The book follows their uneasy partnership as they try to identify who is behind the killings while navigating a city with its own strict rules about magic.
