Synopsis
Bluebell, a battle-scarred warrior princess and heir to her father's throne, believes she is nearly unkillable. Then she learns that Hakon, the raven king, has had a sword made to slay her. She sets out to find the sword before it finds her. It is said to be held by one of her four younger sisters, so she travels the kingdoms to locate them. The sisters have their own paths: Ash, a gifted magician, seeks a dragon; Rose hurries to help her lost daughter, Rowan; Ivy, married off for an alliance, is to become Duchess of Seacaster; and Willow raises an infant meant to be a future king while training with a religious order devoted to the god Maava.
