Overview

Kim Wilkins's Blood and Gold series (2014-2019) is a Norse-flavoured epic fantasy set in Thyrsland, a land of several kings. It follows the five daughters of a king: Bluebell, a warrior and heir; Ash, who has magic and visions; Rose, married to a neighbouring king; and the twins Ivy and Willow. In the first book their father falls ill and the sisters must find a witch to cure him while keeping their treacherous stepbrother from the throne. Later books follow the sisters into war against the Crow King Hakon and the growing power of the god Maava. The series is a completed trilogy; the novella The Crown of Rowan is not counted. Books were also issued in the US as Daughters of the Storm series titles.
