Overview
The Oran Trilogy, also published as the Queens' Quarter series, is a secondary-world fantasy by Midori Snyder. New Moon appeared from Ace in 1989, Sadar's Keep followed from Tor around 1990, and Beldan's Fire from Tor in 1993. Oran was once ruled by four elemental queens of Earth, Air, Water and Fire. Two hundred years before the story, the Fire Queen Zorah destroyed the others and began killing children who showed magic. The books follow four young women who inherit those powers, the rebels who gather around them, and their struggle against Zorah. The three novels form one continuous story and were reissued for young readers as The Oran Trilogy in 2005.
