Overview
Fiona McIntosh’s debut trilogy (2001 to 2002), written in a few weeks after a writing workshop, is set in the land of Tallinor, where sentients, people born with magical powers, are feared and persecuted because of the legend of Orlac, a sentient who once almost destroyed the land. The young Torkyn Gynt, gifted with immense undetected power and healing abilities, leaves his home and his love Alyssa to become apprentice to the royal physic Merkhud, who believes he is the one who will call back the ten Paladin and bring forth the Trinity. It is separate from McIntosh’s later fantasy worlds.
