Synopsis
Deep in the folklore of Tallinor lies a dark legend of betrayal and destruction: the story of Orlac, a powerful sentient who once razed the famed city of Caremboche and almost destroyed the entire land. Centuries later, any sentient who is discovered is feared and subjected to the barbaric practices of bridling and branding. In a village far from the royal city, a young scribe, Torkyn Gynt, blazes with great power and healing abilities that go undetected. To fulfil his destiny he leaves his home and his love, Alyssa, to become apprentice to the Royal Physic Merkhud, who believes that Tor is the One who will call the ten Paladin back into being and bring forth the Trinity, the salvation of Tallinor. Guided only by the falcon Cloot, a man who has been shapeshifted, and Lys, a mysterious woman who appears in his dreams, Tor sets out on a journey that can only end in triumph or betrayal.
