Synopsis
Jane Yellowrock is a Cherokee skinwalker, able to take the shapes of animals, who earns her living hunting vampires. She arrives in New Orleans on a contract. Katherine Fontaneau, an elderly vampire who runs a brothel called Katie's Ladies, hires her to find a powerful rogue vampire that is killing others of its kind in the city. Jane has to work among the vampires and the brothel's staff while keeping her own secret, a mountain lion spirit she calls Beast that lives inside her. Along the way she meets a Cajun biker with a panther tattoo who unsettles her focus. Her job is to name the killer before more die.
