Synopsis
Soulgazer, published in 2025, the first book of the Magpie and the Wolf duology, follows Saoirse, a young woman who has spent her life concealing a volatile and dangerous magic within herself, fearing what would happen if it were ever discovered or unleashed. Facing an arranged marriage to a ruthless king she has no desire to wed, Saoirse instead seeks out Faolan, known as the Wolf of the Wild, a feral pirate whose reputation and skills offer her a possible means of escape from the fate closing in on her. As she draws closer to Faolan and the world of danger he represents, Saoirse must weigh the risk of exposing her hidden magic against the growing urgency of avoiding the marriage awaiting her, setting the two on a path that intertwines her secret power with his own reckless freedom.
