Synopsis

Telluir House has rebuilt in the mountain village of Iskarda after leaving Amberlight, but the politics of the River still threaten it. Tellurith and her consort are offered a rare and risky chance to bring a new form of the qherrique into being. To do it they must leave Iskarda and travel upriver to find the River's Source, accompanied by a company that the qherrique itself selects. The journey brings upheaval, and meanwhile war spreads along the River, toppling and freeing states, and endangering everything Tellurith has worked to build.
