Synopsis
Spear of Heaven continues the Avaryan Rising saga, carrying its cast into new regions beyond the core territories of Ianon and Han-Gilen established in the earlier volumes, as descendants of Mirain's line confront fresh political and magical challenges tied to the saga's ongoing concern with divine bloodlines and contested rule. The novel extends the series' pattern of dynastic conflict and mythic inheritance into unfamiliar lands, testing characters shaped by the earlier books' events against new adversaries and alliances. As with the preceding volumes, the story continues the saga's long exploration of what it means to carry the blood of the sun god Avaryan amid the shifting fortunes of the kingdoms bound to that legacy.
