Synopsis
Tides of Darkness concludes the Avaryan Rising saga, drawing together the accumulated dynastic and magical threads of the earlier novels as the descendants of Mirain's divine bloodline face a culminating threat to the world the saga has built across its preceding volumes. The novel brings the series' long-running concerns with contested succession, divine inheritance, and the burdens carried by Avaryan's ruling houses to their resolution, gathering characters and conflicts established from The Hall of the Mountain King onward into a final confrontation. As the saga's last installment, it closes out the story of the sun god's lineage and the kingdoms shaped by it since Mirain first arrived to claim his place in Ianon.

Notes
- From the series record (Avaryan Rising): Six-book epic fantasy sequence set in the sun-god-descended empire of Avaryan, published as two story arcs (later reprinted in the omnibus collections Avaryan Rising, collecting the first three novels, and Avaryan Resplendent, collecting the final three). A separate universe from Tarr's The Hound and the Falcon, already in the canon.
