Synopsis

Spinning Silver takes place in an imagined medieval Eastern European kingdom called Lithvas, where seven years of brutal winters have driven much of the population toward ruin. Miryem Mandelstam, the daughter of a failing Jewish moneylender, takes over her father's business and proves far more effective at collecting debts than he ever was. Her boast that she can turn silver into gold reaches the ears of the Staryk, a race of fae who raid human settlements each winter, and their king delivers her enchanted silver with the demand that she return it as gold or pay with her life. First published in 2018, Spinning Silver belongs to the Spinning Silver series.
