Synopsis
Spirit's End (2012) is the fifth and final novel in Rachel Aaron's The Legend of Eli Monpress series. Eli Monpress has resumed his old position as the favored servant of the Shepherdess, Benehime, after breaking the rules of his own thieving trade to help save the Council Kingdoms. With her "darling" back at her side, Benehime begins setting in motion a scheme that threatens the very world she was meant to protect. As panic spreads and old dangers stir, including an awakening demon and the return of the fearsome Lord of Storms, who is once again hunting Eli, he must work to prevent the Shepherdess's plan from unfolding. Gathering unlikely allies, including the Spirit Court's Miranda Lyonette, Eli is forced to set aside old rivalries and cooperate with former enemies to face challenges that his usual charm and luck alone cannot solve.
