Synopsis
Grimalkin is a witch assassin from Pendle, trained from childhood to kill and feared throughout the County. She has served her clan faithfully, but events turn her against the people she once obeyed. The book is told in her own words, from her training and early missions to the choices that set her on a different path. When she takes charge of a dangerous object that powerful enemies want, she is hunted by those who were once her allies. She must cross the County and beyond with pursuers close behind. Along the way she crosses paths with Tom Ward and the spook, and begins to question what loyalty and duty really mean.
