Synopsis
Starlight Enclave opens The Way of the Drow trilogy with two parallel journeys. Drizzt Do'Urden, now a father, travels with his young daughter Brienne to the Monastery of the Yellow Rose seeking training and a measure of spiritual clarity after her birth. Meanwhile his wife Catti-brie assembles a company that includes the mercenary Jarlaxle, the assassin Artemis Entreri, and Drizzt's father Zaknafein to seek out someone who might prevent a looming civil war in Menzoberranzan. Their search leads them into the frozen north, where their expedition uncovers discoveries that challenge what each of them believes about the drow and about who deserves protection regardless of where they come from. The novel follows these two threads as they move toward a convergence that will draw Drizzt's family back into the affairs of his birth city.
