Synopsis
Opening the Dark Swan series, Storm Born is set between contemporary Arizona and the magical Otherworld. Eugenie Markham, also known in the Otherworld as Odile or the Dark Swan, works as a shaman for hire, using her skills to banish fey creatures and other otherworldly beings sent to trouble the human world, a trade she learned in part from her retired-shaman stepfather Roland. Her life changes when she is hired to track down and rescue a teenager who has been taken into the Otherworld. The search brings her face to face with a startling prophecy claiming that her own future firstborn child will be powerful enough to dominate both worlds, a revelation that draws the attention of ambitious fairy figures, including the shapeshifting kitsune Kiyo and the fairy king Dorian, each with their own stake in what she might become.
