Synopsis

The second book of the Mage Storms trilogy finds the fragile alliance between Valdemar and Karse under mounting strain as unnatural mage-storms sweep across the western kingdoms, bringing earthquakes, monsoons, ice storms, and venomous magical constructs in their wake. Heralds and Sunpriests, still uneasy partners after generations of hostility, must pool their very different magical traditions and resources if either nation is to survive the escalating catastrophes. As the storms intensify and the alliance's cohesion is tested by old suspicions and new pressures, the allied forces race to locate and identify whatever is generating the storms, aware that failure will mean total magical devastation for the lands already suffering under them.
