Synopsis
Swords, Cider, and Other Distractions is a novella in the Glass Immortals universe, set in a fantasy analogue of the 18th-century Balkans and Ottoman Empire. After brutally putting down a revolt in the city of Holikan, Demir Grappo flees his responsibilities in guilt, and his path crosses with Squire Ciata, a foreign envoy tracking thieves who stole a holy sword and brought it into Ossan territory.
