Synopsis
Pars is surrounded by powerful enemies and nearly lost. King Arslan gives Jaswant the task of negotiating with Rajendra, the ruler of Sindhura, while rumors spread that the former king Andragoras is still alive. Hirmes has allied himself with Giskar, the new king of Maryam. A Chuluk army led by the demon general Iltherisch marches on Pars, a Misr force rallies behind Princess Phitna, and the Serpent King Zahhak returns with his demon army. The final volume asks whether Pars has any way to fight back and whether Zahhak can be defeated.
