Synopsis
Mistborn: The Alloy of Law is set on Scadrial roughly three centuries after the original trilogy, in an era resembling the early twentieth century. Waxillium Ladrian, once a respected lawman who spent years bringing order to the frontier, has returned to the industrial city of Elendel to take over his family's noble house after the deaths of his uncle and sister. Trying to settle into a quieter life and considering a marriage of convenience to secure his house's finances, Wax is drawn back into his old profession when his former partner Wayne asks for his help investigating a ruthless gang known as the Vanishers, responsible for a string of robberies and kidnappings. The case grows urgent when the gang sets its sights on Steris, the woman Wax intends to marry, pulling him back into a world of violence he had hoped to leave behind.
