Synopsis

The Ascendancy Veil, concluding Chris Wooding's Braided Path trilogy, finds the land of Saramyr tipping toward apocalypse as the principal figures introduced across the first two novels are forced to confront what their choices have made of them. The true, far darker nature of the Weavers' secrets and ambitions comes fully into view, driving the empire's fractured factions, and the Empress's gifted daughter at the heart of the conflict, toward the continent's greatest confrontation yet. With Saramyr's fate hanging on the outcome, the novel builds toward a resolution that its characters understand can only be reached through significant bloodshed, leaving uncertain what, if anything, will remain of the empire once the conflict finally breaks.
