Synopsis
The Battle of Evernight concludes the Bitterbynde trilogy, following the same mute, amnesiac foundling protagonist of the earlier two novels as their long journey toward recovering their lost name, memory, and true identity approaches its resolution. Having endured disfigurement, hardship, and the perils of a world steeped in folklore and magic across The Ill-Made Mute and The Lady of the Sorrows, the protagonist now confronts the accumulated consequences of the choices and discoveries made along the way, with the mysteries surrounding their origin drawing closer to being answered. The trilogy's concluding volume brings together its central quest of identity and self-discovery amid the same richly imagined, peril-filled setting established from the outset.
