Synopsis
The Lady of the Sorrows continues the Bitterbynde trilogy directly from The Ill-Made Mute, following the same mute, amnesiac foundling protagonist as their journey through a world of beauty and peril continues, now marked by physical and personal changes that reshape how they are perceived and treated by those they encounter. Still searching for a cure to their earlier disfigurement and for any trace of their lost identity, the protagonist presses further into the trilogy's richly detailed setting, encountering new allies, dangers, and revelations that complicate the straightforward quest begun in the first novel. The second volume deepens the mystery of the protagonist's true origins while expanding the scope of the world first introduced in The Ill-Made Mute.
