Synopsis
In a war-scarred world plagued by goblin raids, sea monsters and trained battle ravens, Kinch Na Shannack is a young thief still paying off the enormous debt he owes the Takers Guild for his criminal education, forcing him into ever riskier jobs. Staking out a lonely road for an easy mark, Kinch tries to rob a lone traveler and picks badly: the woman is Galva, a hardened knight sworn to the death goddess and on a personal mission to find her missing queen. Their botched encounter leaves the two bound together by circumstance rather than choice, and as shared enemies and mutual danger push them toward an uneasy alliance, Kinch and Galva are drawn out of the safety of the road and into a long, perilous journey across a land where goblins hunt in the wild and honor is a rare luxury.
