Synopsis
The Caller closes out the Shadowfell trilogy roughly a year after Neryn first fled her home with barely more than an untrained, canny gift, and finds her now serving as the rebellion's secret weapon in the form of her rare ability as a Caller, able to summon the Good Folk to fight at her side. As the rebels prepare for a climactic confrontation at Summerfort against King Keldec, Neryn learns that another Caller has been serving at the king's side all along, a rival with power equal to her own but without her restraint or conscience. With the future of Alban, her fellow rebels, and her bond with Flint all hanging in the balance, Neryn must weigh how far she is willing to go, and what she is willing to risk, as the long rebellion against Keldec finally reaches its turning point.

Notes
- From the series record (Shadowfell): A YA trilogy set in a wholly invented kingdom (Alban) distinct from the pseudo-historical Ireland/Scotland settings of Marillier's other admitted universes -- no shared world or characters with Sevenwaters, Blackthorn & Grim, the Bridei Chronicles, or Saga of the Light Isles.
