Synopsis

The second Land Fit for Heroes novel follows Ringil Eskiath, Egar the steppe warrior, and Archeth, the Empire of Yhelteth's last known member of the vanished Kiriath race, as their separate lives converge once again amid political intrigue and supernatural threats. Ringil, who has acquired unsettling new abilities since the events of The Steel Remains, wages a personal, increasingly reckless war against the region's slave trade, while Archeth is drawn to investigate a legendary Kiriath city that may not be as lost as everyone assumed. As their inquiries progress, all three uncover signs that the ancient, otherworldly dwenda are manipulating events from the shadows through a human front called the Citadel, working toward a catastrophic plan for Yhelteth that forces Ringil, Egar, and Archeth to navigate court politics, hidden conspiracies, and enemies both mortal and inhuman at once.
