Synopsis
The third and final Land Fit for Heroes novel sends Ringil, Egar, and Archeth on an expedition in search of a legendary Kiriath city and an ancient grave, a quest that becomes entangled with the brewing conflict between two rival empires and splinters the three companions across dangerous, far-flung territories. Ringil finds himself contending with a vengeful knight commander and forces determined to see him dead, Egar is drawn deeper into the politics and dangers of the steppe, and Archeth confronts fresh revelations about her own Kiriath heritage and the ancient powers tied to it. Looming over all three storylines is the return of the otherworldly dwenda, ancient beings whose ambitions threaten catastrophe on a scale beyond any single empire, forcing Ringil, Egar, and Archeth to choose between personal vengeance and the far larger struggle bearing down on their world.
