Synopsis

From the World of Percy Jackson, The Court of the Dead (2025), co-written by Rick Riordan and Mark Oshiro, is the second book in The Nico di Angelo Adventures, picking up a few months after The Sun and the Star. Nico di Angelo and his boyfriend Will Solace travel to Camp Jupiter to visit Nico's half-sister Hazel Levesque, only to find the Roman stronghold unsettled by an influx of refugee monsters seeking sanctuary from unknown dangers elsewhere. When monsters within the camp begin disappearing one by one, Nico, Will, and Hazel take it upon themselves to investigate, drawing on Nico's particular connection to the dead. As they dig into the disappearances, the trio senses a shadowy force behind the vanishings, one that threatens the fragile safety the refugee monsters had only just begun to find at camp.

Notes

  • From the series record (The Nico di Angelo Adventures): Co-credited 'Rick Riordan and Mark Oshiro' on their original editions; continues Nico di Angelo's arc directly out of The Trials of Apollo's ending, the current chronological frontier of the universe. Core per the established credited-authorship rule (the same Pern precedent: flagship author co-credited on mainline continuity).

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.

  • Internal chronology, within The Riordanverse: position 25 of 25: previous The Sun and the Star (2023)
