Synopsis

From the World of Percy Jackson, The Sun and the Star (2023), co-written by Rick Riordan and Mark Oshiro, is the first book in The Nico di Angelo Adventures and a direct sequel to The Tower of Nero. Demigod boyfriends Nico di Angelo and Will Solace set out on a perilous, deeply personal quest into the underworld realm of Tartarus, determined to find and rescue Bob, the once-forgotten Titan Iapetus, who helped Nico during his own earlier ordeal in that same hostile terrain. Navigating a landscape defined by literal manifestation of fear and self-doubt, Nico and Will must confront painful memories and lingering trauma from their pasts as they press deeper into Tartarus, aware that few who enter it ever return unchanged, if they return at all, and that finding Bob may demand more from both of them than either anticipated.

Notes

  • From the series record (The Nico di Angelo Adventures): Co-credited 'Rick Riordan and Mark Oshiro' on their original editions; continues Nico di Angelo's arc directly out of The Trials of Apollo's ending, the current chronological frontier of the universe. Core per the established credited-authorship rule (the same Pern precedent: flagship author co-credited on mainline continuity).

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.
